The GM 3800. It did everything that was needed of it, and it did so very well. At a time when most of the cars they produced were terrible, they managed to design one of the best engines they've ever built.

Ditto on the 3800. I have one in a '98 LeSabre and it just keeps going, as smooth and quiet as ever. For such a big engine, the gas milage is not even as bad as the raw numbers sound.

The nose looks terrible, but compared to the mclaren, this could be the posterboy car.

never said they were.

Agreed. We've gotten to a point where cars are quite safe, and we should now shift the focus to better driver education. A lot of accidents are caused by people doing something stupid; these days texting is involved more often than not. Let's work toward reducing the number of people who do that, and maybe it's time

No matter how many times I hear V10, I still get chills from hearing that flyby part.

Any of the cars mentioned in the Top Gear China episode.

Knowing how to change a tire is an essential skill for all drivers, and plus if you have a set of winter tires, you can change them yourself instead of paying a considerable amount of money twice a year to change sets.

Considering how easy it is to do, everyone should be able to do this.

The B body has to win. That platform is the fourth best-selling "car" of all time, behind only the Model T, original Beetle and the Lada Riva

I think you hit the nail right on the head there. That's exactly why this monstrosity exists.

Even at that, why choose this over a Range Rover?

I used to dislike him solely for his terrible music, but at least now I can publicly denounce him and everyone will just nod in disappointment.

I always thought this looked cool. At the very least, it was something different; back in a time when the engineers actually had some wiggle room to try new things. The rules in F1 these days are really killing innovation, and for what benefit? So a bunch of teams that will never be competitive can afford to continue

Why does this model, heck, why does this vehicle category even exist?

The fact that these custom UIs have to exist speak volumes about Android. (Full disclosure: I'm a Nexus 5 user). While pure Android is nice because you get quick updates, the number of basic features that are missing really bothers me. A lot of those customizations from the likes of Samsung and HTC address some of

Not a very encouraging read, but at least we know that Gary is actually in a position to be commenting about the situation.

That could be interesting. Another thing the article mentioned was how the driver would be more like the pilot of a fighter jet. Dressed in a g-suit and mostly there to monitor the computer systems. That seems really detached from reality, but I think that's the next logical evolution of formula 1.

I was surprised by how good this car looks. But, I'll reserve my final opinion until after I see it from the front, because the front wing is really the big issue here.

The driver safety can be kept at a very high level without ruining the spectacle. It's really all the cost-saving measures that kill the excitement. Personally I don't care about there being small teams in the sport, I'd much rather see the world's biggest carmakers throw as much money as possible at their teams and
