I'm asking an honest question. If this is what everyone says, why do they think that way?

So then why do every single article on the internet and many mechanics strongly recommend not constantly changing gears like this?

I'm surprised there isn't a way to do so already. If Rdio made the effort to scan for media, why not include a media player functionality? Especially with quite a lot of content missing from their collection (Led Zeppelin comes to mind).

There is a difference between D and low, and when you're stuck shifting between reverse and drive happens far more often than when parallel parking (unless you're terrible at it). I'll refer you to Eric The Car Guy's video about automatic transmissions.

Bonus fact: at -25C, GM door locks become too stiff to open. I love having to get in through the rear passenger door because the driver's door is frozen stiff.

I only recently gave up on buying music and switched to streaming (Rdio, since they're the only one I can legally use in Canada), so I've just been using VLC to play some of my downloaded tracks. I also have foobar2000 on my computer but rarely use it.

The point about being stuck is excellent. Never go from D to R over and over, it's terrible for an automatic transmission. Avoid doing that, but if you can't, use 1 or low instead of D. It's much better for the transmission.

Oddly enough it was +5C in Montreal this morning, so this isn't from today, but it was the lowest number my car ever showed me.

What I was getting at is how a lot of C# is handled by the .NET framework, as opposed to C++ where the programmer has to do more of that work. Of course that's not necessarily a bad thing, after all C++ and other languages are designed to avoid having to work in assembly.

Add orange to the possible colors of coolant (and even red). Also, all this is assuming the fluids aren't far past their usable life. Automatic transmission fluid can turn a brown color if it stays in there for too long. If you've been neglecting your fluids, you'll need to have a mechanic find the source. Or if

Automatic transmission fluid and power steering fluid are really the same thing, and some mechanics will just put ATF in the power steering because of that. So a red leak could actually be one of two things.

If you're serious about programming, you might as well start with C, or some variant of it; since that's about as close to a standard language as there's gonna be for the forseeable future. I myself learned C#. Not strictly my choice, it was a degree requirement to take a programming class, and the department chose to

I hate buying lunches. You end up paying a lot of money for food that isn't all that great. I would much rather eat a sandwich or leftovers from home rather than pay for food I wouldn't enjoy any more.

Whoever builds a car with absolutely no phone integration crap is the one I'm buying.

It sickens me what some journalists will do for a photo.

I'm not very religious myself, but I have a very low opinion of atheists because they take tragedies like this and use them as a platform to call out religion, or really anything even remotely spiritual.

This is terrible. I was really hoping the earlier reports were just the media fear mongering, but I guess they were right...

I've switched from Seagate due to failures I've experienced. Hard drives are not commodities; the brand actually does make a difference.

My apologies for the multiple typos in the post!

The My Passport drives have to be the best. I know only buy Western Digital drives, and I've used several internal and My Book drives in the past. But the conclusion I've come to is that having a My Book is poinless. It makes so much more sense to just keep these drives inside your computer. If portability is
