Except, Mass Effect did turn into a shooter; ME3 especially just pushed all the RPG stuff out on the sides more or less, essentially making it a 40 hour cover shooter that tries to invoke an RPG feel.

I wouldn't call any of these houses cramped. They look small, but you sure as hell get more space and room, than a cheap dormitory apartment, or a one room apartment. Some of them look quite cozy as well!

I think part of the reason, is that there's so many subjects being thrown around, at times. I love the series, and while I won't say it doesn't make sense, it does at least take two playthroughs to get everything... but yea, it's not as confusing as some people say.
