I think thats called linux + wine. (ok, wine isnt fully backward compatible, but its pretty darn good).

And since linux already has a kernel that works with the hardware used in desktop computers, who cares if manufacturers screw over linux, you can just download ubuntu or mint and get rid of all their crap.
I installed gentoo once. That was a 2 hour guide driven nightmare. Installing ubuntu is as natural as installing windows. And apt > windows update anyday. Actually EASIER to use in that regard (although when stuff goes wrong in linux, it generally goes REALLY wrong)
I will agree to that. I've started completely avoiding the metro side control panel as the desktop side panel changes affect the entire system and work more intuitively.
Fair enough. I dont think windows 8 is as bad as people make it out to be, but I would LOVE linux to gain gaming support and move up in the world (go valve!).
The OS is pretty solid other than a few issues.
I felt like while windows 7 is definitely better than vista. And vista was far from great, vista wasnt as "bad" as most people made it out to be. Low driver support (especially in 64 bit) and precaching programs making ram usage look insane (on top of the fact that ram usage was slightly higher, the windows sidebar…
Nuclear powered submarines use nuclear fission of uranium. Generally they use smaller reactors than a land based plant. They use higher enriched uranium to allow for higher energy output at the smaller size. The higher enriched uranium also lasts longer and runs quieter due to the smaller size.
Indeed. Its great. but it's not flawless. And with various hardware configurations, wine just adds another layer of things for people to get upset about. Better off shooting for native support to cut out one layer.
easily doable if the steam for linux support takes off and other developers start providing support.
A steam OS would likely be some sort of lightweight linux with steam on top of it. Which lacks all sort of game support. The addition of steam of linux in the coming months will hopefully cause other developers to provide support for linux, meaning this could be a possbility in the future.
It's different than nuclear reactors. Nuclear reactors use nuclear fission to release energy. Nuclear fusion isn't power source useable.
she's more famous for the guild, but dr horrible's has NPH

This is what I was going to say. What game are we going to include? While there are some very good players that are consistantly good from 1 game to the next, it seems like each game requires slightly different skillsets (even SC is noticeably different from SC2) and would cause major change over the years.
Watch something like MLG. there are some basement dwellers, but a lot of professionals have to travel to tournaments thus actually get out. Basement dwellers are to esports what jocks in high school are to actual pro athletes.
Indeed. It matters more/less to different people. If it matters a lot to you, you should be with someone who is ok with that. and vice versa. But don't act surprised if an otherwise good date goes sour when it matters a lot to them that you don't be on your phone.
Determine beforehand how important it is to you:
Ive never had minesweeper with windows 8, its my favorite of the stock games. when do i get it?
