I don’t relate to peter parker because he’s a white heterosexual. I relate to him because he’s an introvert and has self confidence issues.
I want nuance. But in a way that makes it heavy handed.
Yeah and it’s hard to treat something as normal when the director is going out of his way to draw attention to it. To me, at least, that kind of undermines the otherwise normalcy of the scene (as described, at least, since I haven’t seen the film).
Killjoy? because did not squeeze out nerd tears of joy over it? please.
I don’t get the beef here? Because it was done in passing it’s seen as swept under the rug?
Either way there would have been an issue. If they make a big deal about it, then the article would be about how it shouldn’t be a big deal because it’s just a fact of life.
I’m going to go on record with this. I didn’t mind the ‘original’ American incarnation, once they’d gotten rid of the stupid studio segments (which are shit in the UK version too by the way) I thought it was a great way to spend an hour.
This is horrendous logic.
Can’t. We live in a PC world where if you say anything slightly offensive or off color you need to be strung up.
Are you assuming his race and gender?
wow people get butthurt so easy, fucking relax world.
Standard Trump bashing procedure. I dare you to write an article where you don’t talk shit about Trump. Everything on Jalopnik is just one long Trump joke. Didn’t see the same for Obama. You guys are still kissing his fucking ass. Please ditch your obvious political bias, as commentary, some of us like actual stories…
Isnt bailing on work without fear of losing their jobs proving that the movement is bullshit? Women and minorities have more opportunities and support than men or white people and you guys havent provided any awareness of issues that cant be contested.
So, um.. women don’t show up to work at kotaku to show the valuable contribution they make to this website. And yet everyone is going to come in this site and read posts like usual and no one would even notice this was happening if you didn’t point it out in this post ( which is why, I imagine, you did so)
Rob Bricken at io9 should be made aware of this awful mistreating of women so he can cry his delicious tears and delete comments that engage or challenge him.
Except that is not what they said. They said nothing about enjoying, only identifying with. There is no false equivalence in that comment.
Even my kid identifies with characters she likes, NO MATTER how different they are to her. Come on.
That’s my question as well. So if I understand the rules correctly, the individual can choose their gender but society gets to determine our race. So Caitlyn Jenner can claim “I’m a woman” and society must agree and affirm but if Obama said “ I was the 44th white POTUS” we’d look at him like he’s crazy. Even though he…
i’ve no identify crisis, and nether does Racheal (according to her). But we all mock her. Irony? We applaud Caitlynn Jenner but we mock Rachel Doleza? What am I missing here?
