Eh, Nyssa was awesome as well this episode. Same with Thea. Laurel's still making bad decisions, but that's like her thing.

Is that a wrestling thing? No clue what that is.

Truth. Seems he went full Goa'uld here.

And the finale was just perfect. A Delano adaptation, made creepier by the Bayou setting, and John just chainsmoking away because they'd managed to work in so many comic touches after the first two or three episodes. There's one moment — it's just a shot really — that nailed the Hellblazer vibe to me: John getting out

Oh, Ryan is, yeah, I meant Papa Midnight's actor, Michael James Shaw. I believe Ryan (and his friend who played Gary Lester) are theatre actors mainly, but have a lot of TV/film credits. Shaw had almost none, and yet was incredible on Constantine.

I was okay with them having it in the US. I mean, once it became clear they were doing a version of American Gothic it kind of worked; and having Midnight and Corrigan be New Orleans based worked. But yeah, at least a few London episodes would be nice.

Eh, he did that even in lighter moments, and it didn't work for me. Plus it's my still-there dislike of how the show took my favorite snarky superhero and made him an emotionless serial killer.

I actually really like the Player. So far only four episodes in but it's actually put a lot of focus on it's main myth arc, which I like. And the cases of the week are fun, and of the four so far, two have tied into the myth arc. I'm a Strike Back fan, so it's nice to see Winchester still being awesome.

Forever and ever. Still one of the best shows ever made.

Yeah. If they'd started with that stuff earlier, it would have been great. I mean, sure, the show had some pacing and storytelling issues over its whole run, but it worked. But after three episodes NBC cut production, then ratings rose and they still did nothing. Boo.

Seriously. SERIOUSLY! If it's Darhk, I quit. Well, maybe not quit, but get really pissed off at cheap writing. Just make it the Calculator, it works perfectly with Felicity's dad being a tech genius like her, and it makes more sense that a non-supernatural villain would marry a Vegas waitress. Plus, bringing in more

Oliver never got that annulment, or sent the paperwork! And he tried to propose to Felicity. Bigamist!

Imma knock down dis wall, imma knock down DIS wall…

For the most part. The show ended on what would have been the halfway part, roughly. The full season's arc isn't resolved, but not built up too much to worry. It does end on a cliffhanger though. But you get some good revelations, the Papa Midnite arc is sort of wrapped up, and Matt Ryan's final scene is a great coda.

Oh yeah, I still need to watch that show…

"You shouldn't have quoted the film to me, Starkitty. My sistah quoted the film to me. ONCE!"

Those tags were keeping secrets.

True, but your prime minister is still a Miles Teller meets Pedro Pascal, so things could be worse.

Matt Ryan would be awesome at that. Even just one like "Stupid!" In fairness to Keanu, he was cast very late in the overall production of that film. Every change from the comics, be it Americanization, Catholicism-only route, etc., was done by the studio/crew. And that film is really solid if you ignore Keanu playing

True. Felicity holding down the trigger on full auto + a confined space + her swinging it wildly around + the recoil = a totally believable bit of chaos and Double Down getting hit once. Only once.
