Etrigan, Dr. Fate, Ibis, the Phantom Stranger, I Vampire…there's a lot they could draw in. And I'd love it.

Andy Diggle's run got me into the series, and is one of the best runs on the title in ages. John, regaining his blue suit, white gloves, and swag while conning a whole casino is one of my favorite Constantine moments.
I liked it. Not perfect, some of the usual "pilot problems." But it has potential and Matt Ryan is a perfect Constantine. Swagger, punk, working class, dead friends and guilt, and manipulative as hell. The bit at the bar with Chas and beer and punk rock completely sold me.
Ha, Reggie Ledoux drives a cab from the "Yellow Crown Cab. Co." Please let John take on Cthulhu or at least a Louisiana Lovecraftian cult, please.
Bad Hellblazer adaptation, great and unique standalone. Also, Gavin Rossdale from Bush. That was cool.
Really hoping they "rumple up" Constantine's look. I mean, Ryan is perfect in acting and look, but the coat feels too short and neat. I want to see the full blue suit and long coat.
I wrote a piece about the two shows earlier this fall on their similarities and differences in story and quality. http://www.indiewire.com/ar…
Eh, Peaky Blinders isn't as good. Waste of good actors in thematically heavy, but characterization-light scripts. Good production design, but it lacks the engaging factor of Boardwalk. BE is basically a bunch of amazing character actors getting to just cut loose. The actors on PB don't really get to.
It was more set up for the fifth season we never got (IIRC, this season was meant to be season 7, and they cut two seasons out) that would have shown L&L really starting their rise.
I loved that they took the bit of Luciano and Lansky talking to each other in the others native language and added Benny into the mix. Luciano speaking Yiddish to him was great.
Oooh. Shades of how he got back at Rothstein in season 3. I hadn't thought of this.
Torrio keeps trying to run things as the man behind the curtain, thinking Team L&L are the lackeys they were a decade ago. But L&L are, as Nucky said, smarter than others thought.
What surprised me wasn't that Mickey died, but that they kept shooting him after he was already dead. I guess they wanted to be sure…
When that was mentioned in seasons one and two it was an interesting tidbit. Now it feels righteous.
Yeah, but I would totally kill for a spinoff miniseries of Luciano, Lanskey, and Siegal in the 30s and 40s. Keep Piazza, Yusef, and Zegen, they're so good together.
I keep thinking back to the "young henchmen coup" plot from season 2 where L&L, Capone, and Jimmy all tried to screw over their bosses, and they screwed up constantly because they were impulsive and not experienced enough.
Bohdiwalk Empire, starring Patrick Swayze.
She is a criminal mastermind. She started Van Alden's bootlegging side job after all.
Better him than Dunham or McCarthy.
I'm still picturing a Stardust-style Greek Chorus of ghosts of all the interesting death characters. Just all sitting off to the side, watching events go by. Ghost!Rothstein, Jimmy, Richard, and now Chalky, Van Alden, and Mickey. Just bemused commentary.
