Hitting reuse before recycle. Nicely done!

Old socks are great as a wet swifter pad & on a steam mop too. I cut the tops off, cut a slit down the bottom & turn them inside out. It's cheaper, less wasteful & works better too.

First check your local recycling regs to see if you have to even bother— some places DO take “unusable” textiles in your blue recycling bin. (Like here in SF, https://sfenvironment.org/textiles ... With the slightly amusing note that, if you want to recycle textiles in the blue bins, you have to wrap them in a

In the Seattle area, Goodwill has drop boxes around the area for recycling clothing. I’ve seen one at a park and ride. Also the County accepts clothing for recycling at some of their neighborhood transfer stations. An IT consultant I know works for a company that refurbishes shoes of any condition for third world

People often do this if they have to rent a car anyway for business or pleasure travel. But no, I would not want to pay for a demo of something I was thinking about buying.

Fuck all “renting a car” to see if I like it, especially at Turo prices.

I have no idea if they actually do this, but if they have loaners at their service centers I would not be surprised if they do double-duty as demonstrators.

The people driving Teslas now are very much early adopter types. General car normies don’t buy 60k purchases sight unseen.  Tesla cant survive off the adopters forever.

I think Tesla gets away with a 18% test drive rate because most Tesla buyers are probably on the tech savvy side, so research and comparison shopping is usually already done by time they’re ready to pull the trigger.

There is also little else on the market comparable to a Tesla where driving dynamics might become a

Tesla said it will keep several galleries in “high-traffic locations.”

Not at all.

Cars bought from a dealership will still have those costs baked into the price you pay for the car.

It’s not like dealerships don’t need to pay rent, payroll, or utilities.

Well guess what, the cost of the dealer is baked into every car you buy, too. Guess who ultimately pays the rental fee on that giant inflatable gorilla?

Every GM worker since the dawn of the company slowly shakes their heads.

A friend of mine works in a SoCal dealership in sales. He posted something on Instagram about how Tesla had an announcement in a couple days. I’m pretty sure he thought it was some big new thing being announced. It was one of those vague pictures with just a date/time in the description.

If you’re going to do it, make sure they actually get disposaled. I had to clean a small orchard of rotted lemon halves out of ours last year, and it was absolutely disgusting.

My parents accidentally put a glass through the disposer. They decided it worked better after that and put in a couple of ice cubes once in a while after that.

I grew up with one. Moved in with my wife and we did not have one for 7 years. Just bought a house that has one again and we both never use it. Now I just think they are lazy and just something else that needs maintenance. You have to buy cleaner for them. They tend to stink so you need to by freshener for them. Just

There’s no need to peel potatoes anyway.

As someone who didn’t grow up with a garbage disposal and barely uses it now, is it really worth it? With so many rules and ways you can either break the disposal or clog your pipes, is it even worth installing these things in the first place?

I’ve always heard Lemons are a good thing to put down a disposal to clean it and make it smell fresh, is that still ok? (I know Limes are not because they’re tougher...)
