Every 7 years a new generation discovers stuff like this. It's why Aladdin is still a strong title for Disney. Star Wars lost it's way quite a while ago now. Disney bought it from Lucas but just recycled the first movie. So unless they create original stories or you are now 8 and discovering it for the first time,

The first one was brilliant.
The second one was genius and still yet to be equalled.
The third one had the unfortunate teddy bears.
The fourth one was a disaster.
The two that followed did not solve the problems the fourth one introduced.
The 7th one made by Disney recycled the first one because they wanted to get the fans

"Then again, it is Disney/Marvel and this country is chock full of barnyard animals willing to pay hardearned money to sit and bray during some challenge-free viewing."

Who doesn't?

"There is every reason to believe she would have been a huge star…"
No there is no reason to believe that.
She was a Playboy model/B movie actress.
There is every reason to believe she would have been a loving and doting mother and perhaps may have left her mediocre film career behind and concentrated on her new family.

"The only point for this movie is this show her incredibly grisly and inhuman death."
Your scenario is pointless.
R.I.P. Sharon tate.

And?
Why is that a problem?
