You are missing the point.
It would have blown up into a major media event if they were not distracted by the Trump video.
She basically confirmed all the worse stereotypes of politicians.
The cable news cycle would still be feasting on it if not for the bigger Trump distraction.

Be real.
If the media was not distracted by the Trump video they would have made her hypocrisy in to 3-5 day circus.

It's one thing to think that.
It's entirely another to have it come out of her own mouth.
The media would have blown that up into a 3 to 5 day nightmare if not for the even bigger story of Trump's gaffe.
The timing of that Trump video could not have been better for Clinton.
There will be more where that came from.

The biggest statement she made that would have blown up huge if not for the Billy Bush distraction was her admitting to being a two-faced politician having a bogus public policy position while having the opposite position in private. It was a clear message to the bankers to watch what she does and not what she says.

Putting real, paying tourists at risk of death or serious injury (they've already established SWAT teams are used to control the AIs) is just satisfying his 'curiosity.'
Then you think Bernard is conducting his own Tuskegee type experiment making him a mustache twirling mad scientist.
If you are correct then yes that's

Billy, time to polish the resume.

John Stewart is a bona fide genius.
Oliver would be the first to say he's no John Stewart.
Still "Billy Bush, Fuck that guy." is precisely what I was thinking once I stopped seething about Trump.

You gotta hand it to the Clinton camp.
The timing of that Access Hollywood bombshell could not have been more perfect.
What Goldman-Sachs speeches?
There HAS to be more where that came from.
Look for more of these SCUDs to be strategically launched between now and election day.
Seriously how many techs at The Apprentice

Look at all the shit Disney gets when one of their rides breaks down.
He would be a totally irresponsible scientist to send an AI out to interact with tourists in an unpredictable way.
If that is really what's going on here then the writing is even worse than I thought.

So far anything this show is adding to the AI conversation was much better realized in the Kubrick/Spielberg movie.
After watching these first two episodes I fully see why they shutdown production and went back to the drawing board.
They've dropped a few hints at what they cooked up with the rewrites but so far they

Excellent example of why I prefer to read the comments over the reviews.

But EVERYONE in the movie theater in 1973 knew the medical scenes would not find a cure. There was no sense of ambiguity that maybe it was all some mental disease. In fact the early scenes of The Exorcist at the dig lays it out explicitly… these two are going mano e mano.

It's just that we believe that the supernatural is very present even if we can't see it. I make the correction because I'm not sure you can actually acknowledge something that has no basis in fact. I think the movie had an unintended consequence for many of us raised Catholic in that it made us look in the mirror and

There was a bit of Uncle Ernie in him.

"In 1973, part of the beauty of the original Exorcist and the William Peter Blatty novel it was adapted from was a shared ambiguity. If you went into either work blind, you weren’t sure until halfway through the story if preteen Regan MacNeil was actually possessed by a demon or not."

Hey, how come no Exorcist review AVClub?
Looked like the best TV pilot I've seen since Hannibal.
Heck of a lot better than this show.
But I'll borrow your opening line.
It’s hard to pinpoint where a show will go after only its first episode.

"Terminator 2 took aim at the ethics of artificial intelligence," said Capt. Obvious.

Well said.

Thanks!

I watched season 1 then bailed.
Did it get a lot better?
Or was Season 1 great for you?
