C+ grading on a Coens scale.
The musical scenes are great.
The rest just sort of lays there.

That's spot on.
It's just that it not a very ballsy way of taking on religion.
This movie needs a major kick in the pants.
The best scene takes place in the editing room.
It shows how the entire movie needed to be edited.

It's a movie that wants to say all sorts of things about dogma, religion and faith but doesn't have Monty Python's balls.
Wait for the video.

TZ should have long passed to the public domain.

It's in the top 10 if not top 5.
TV's greatest moment is still Carl Sagan's Cosmos.
Plus TZ had to produce several dozen episodes a year.
They weren't all classics.
Still you have to look on in awe at what they were able to deliver with absurd deadlines and minuscule budgets.
It should rightfully take its place alongside

Bravo for Two great seasons of television.
It's unlikely to get a third.
But I'd rather see shows die too early than stay too (Mad Men) long.
