"Network" and "Arthur." "Network" of course has the loony anchorman having a nervous breakdown on live TV that spikes ratings so they leave him on air. "Arthur" had Dudley Moore as the totally unPC drunk millionaire (billionaire after todays inflation)…

I was with this show until that episode.
The jokes sucked, the new character did not bring anything fresh to the party and Elizabeth Gillies did not sing a great song.

of course they do but just ONE guy? the same guy for 15 years? for the last 15 effin years this guy was the absolute best they could do? for 15 years? this guy? on the face of it it doesn't add up.

But that spot still had Jared in it.
15 years has to be some sort of record for a single person to be a company mascot.

It's more to it than that.
They spend tens of millions on these ad campaigns.
There is some sort of tactic in play here besides a lack of inertia to change for 15 years.

Are there any Mad Men out there who can explain why Subway stuck with this guy for 15 years? Was he the ONLY person to lose weight on that silly Subway diet? Wouldn't it be more credible if there were 100s of people saying they ate healthy at Subway? He seems charismatically challenged to me. What was his appeal?

Keith in his prime is better more influential than Townsend (I saw them both live in the early 70's).
