Yes be very careful when inviting the Man into your life.
I’m in Texas and am lucky I don’t need to. A gas station right around the corner from me has some of the cheapest diesel around. A Costco that’s not out of my way has even cheaper diesel. Finally when I go out of town there’s always a Buc-Ee’s on the highway. I typically pay about the same for diesel as regular gas.…
Every car maker now feels they need their own Hoffmeister kink. None work as well as the real deal though. At least it isn’t that crappy black plastic fake window in the recently-departed-generation Camry.
One of the KIA dealers in my city is owned by a buy here/pay here used car dealerships. Same ugly logo and everything, and the store looked abysmal, even after they moved into an old Toyota dealership. Yeah, no thanks.
It’s because here in the US the dealers are the car manufacturer’s true customers. Add to that the fact that they have to finance their inventory, and you end up with cars that are all spec’ed the same, few or no cool colors, no manual transmissions, etc., because the dealers want inventory that moves quickly, because…
Some cars do count, like M cars.
Re: passing: your GTI just didn’t have enough of the uberholt prestige.
DCT is not a no cost option, it’s $2,900. Also, the M2 with just 6MT and the executive package is an amazing value.
I really liked Chris Bangle’s designs, and I think if he had stayed on, they would have evolved and matured into something better looking than these weird looking buck toothed grilled monstrosities that BMW is coming out with.
Yeah, it’s basically a 440i Gran Coupe competitor.
LOL I often ask for a price break (even something as simple as “can you do a little better on the price?”) and more often than not I get something off. For something as expensive as a car heck yeah I’m gonna haggle
It’s so Yakuza. I love it, it’s one of my favorite Japanese car designs. Distinctly Japanese, without veering into weird or baroque.
Wouldn’t the ugliest car on sale today be the Prius? It’s like Toyota went out of its way to make it painful to look at from all angles.
I would think so. If Porsche can turn a Q5 into a Macan, they’d have no problem making use of the new platform, even if MSB would be preferable from a weight distribution standpoint.
Touareg, Cayenne, Bentayga, and the first gen Q7 were/are all platform mates, and the body shells at least all came from the same plant in Hungary. The new second gen Q7 is is based on the Audi MLB platform (think jacked up lengthened A6 wagon) and is no longer related to these vehicles.
As an NRA life member, the NRA is chock full of old fat white guys who have no idea of what goes on outside of the suburban/exurban/rural confines.
At least you can tell the nomenclature difference between these “M sport” models vs true Ms. Not like Mercedes, with “C43", “GLC43" and “E43" type models, which is the more bullshit naming convention. The E43, for example, even was originally named the more honest E400 AMG sport.
Yeah the concept had all those sexy voluptuous curves, it was a real letdown when the real thing came out and looked kinda slab-sided. The side intake was terrible looking, it looked cheap and too small, and it seems like Porsche knew it because they’ve changed it in every iteration of the Boxster/Cayman/718 since.
