I noticed that too. Pretty much gave my old Wii the on it’s own power bar option with the VCR, and other older consoles I have. I have a Wii U for my Wii uses now so it’s less of a problem for me, especially when the thing uses as much as my energy saving lightbulb in the lamp beside me lol.

In fact, I think you could make an argument that what we think think of as the “western” style of cartooning had its roots in that early wave of Japanophilia, and of course, those cartoons in turn had an influence on Japanese cartoonists and animators.
