Illustrators rarely if ever attempt to reproduce “reality”. That’s more the domain fine arts and life drawing.

This is more about illustration than reality. If you don’t give your characters a sense of real weight, they look and feel like balloons. So basketball/torpedo boobs may exist in reality, but when drawn, it makes your drawings look really amateurish regardless of your actual talent.

I’m just saying that Assassin’s Creed was in a different kind of development hell. But at least it’s going into production, which is way better than a studio sitting on the rights.

Pretty sure the media will take care of letting everyone know that it’s based on a videogame.

Ubisoft didn’t sell or loan off the rights to the film, they’re heavily involved. A lot of the delay was the company itself finding people they actually want to work with and who agree on how the story should be told.

I think most of the people who like it unironically watched the first MK as kids, and it’s loved through a lens of nostalgia. Everyone else just likes it because it’s a campy movie with a lot of bad dialogue to laugh at.

I love the AssCreed series as much as anyone, but we really suspend quite a bit of disbelief when immersing ourselves in this world. And I’m not talking about the parkour ninja stuff, or the sci-fi precursors and their technology - those are comparatively easy to accept, and will probably translate to film pretty well.

The hood is kinda see-through, so the harsh studio light is illuminating his face. I think it works really well, and I hope it translates to film.
