My very small, lost in time area has a Little Italy (the little park is still named that), a Tippy Town (Polish/Russian) and a pretty robust Hungarian community. No one says a word about any of it... gee, I wonder why.

She appears to be conveniently ignoring the fact that a lot of Americans define themselves by their ancestry. The US has more extravagant St Patrick’s Day celebrations than Ireland does. I believe that some US cities even dye their rivers green.

My understanding is that this guy then took a video recording of the incident to police, and said “look look I was assaulted” and the cops watched the tape and went “No.”

While I agree that people are doing the absolute most over this dude’s death, it takes some real headassery to tag it and then take pictures with it, especially as a white person.

What is wrong with that girl? Putting aside the mural subject, someone spends time painting a mural — you don’t go defacing it. That’s someone’s work of art. And if it is a mural about someone who has just died, that takes it to a new level of ugly and wrong.
