The setting for the show seems very strange. It's a show about people who were born in the 70's and 80's, brought up in the perpetual 60's, and with no societal advancement or communication of our modern day. How the heck is any of this going to be relevant or interesting to the viewing audience?
Ok, I waited long enough, is this show going to touch on/mention the profound racist and sexist attitudes of the era the ship was launched in? Or will it just gloss over it and act like it didn't originate in a time period of some severe inequities? Every trailer I watch does nothing to illuminate this question at…

This hits every metric. How was there a civilization this advanced, without any record of it? Those structures indicate a thriving culture, possibly even language and advanced hierarchical structure almost 5000 years before we previously believed such structure existed.
