After the Leftovers, I trust Lindelof with this adaptation.
Hell yes, BAMF Cafe in Baltimore. It's great.
I just checked PubMed, and it looks like he hasn't published these findings yet. The professor's name is Ilan Meyer from UCLA. He was also very surprised by his results. But the benefits like marriage, adoption, etc are benefits for adults. Gay kids (and he was studying adolescents, not adults), still get beat up,…
The word hasn't been said on the show for years.
I agree. I saw a talk by a research who researches minority stress with regards to LGBT people. He has found that in recent years outcomes for LGBT people are the same (and some outcomes are worse). He posited that while that culture is generally more accepting, which leads people to be more out, which causes them to…
The coffee shop I go to (it's BYOB for Drag Race) is perfect, because you get the crowd reactions to the big moments, but you can hear all the dialogue (and they have the closed captioning on).
Seriously, this show is no oasis for gay men without hot men in underwear. Although those dancers during the "Category Is" routine certainly delivered.
I don't think that has anything to do with everyone-gets-a-medal mentality (because they only want Valentina to get the trophy). I think it has to do with hot-people-get-rewarded-for-being-mediocre.
Valentina really showed herself to be a fame monster in the reunion. It was one of the best and most surprising reveals of the season to me. Her arc isn't over, because she's almost certainly coming back for All-Stars 3.
One oasis doesn't need to service everyone. It's "an oasis" not "the only oasis."
I don't think that has anything to do with you being ace. It may also mean that reality TV shows in general aren't right for you.
This is good. More sexy super men, please.
I really can't think of any *great* Aquaman runs. His co-starring run Brightest Day may be a highlight.
I'm not into armpits, but that panel with his arm raised is making me reconsider.
Vulture just had an interview with the actor that played Piscatella, and it reveals that originally in the episode the tattoo Wes gets for Piscatella is actually marker and not a real tattoo. I think this adds to the idea that Piscatella thinks all prisoners are untrustworthy, and it's very weird that it was cut from…
I agree that Piscatella and his entire backstory are underbaked. But I really, really love that with Wes, while he thought he was being charming and loving, he was fetishing Wes by always comparing him to chocolate. Wes brought it up and the. quickly dismissed it, I think because he was aware that Piscatella was a…
I agree. I thought Piscatella was being played. I wasn't 100% confident until the end of the episode that Piscatella was going to kill the attacker and not his lover (alrhough maube in my binge watch I hadn't picked up on that being revealed previously).
It reminded me how Vee's spotlight did it humanize Vee, it just doubled down on her being awful.
I don't love that Piscatella is the only significant gay male character, but I do like that in 2017 we can have a gay male character be evil and not have to apologize for it (once character doesn't represent all of us). A show about a female prison wouldn't naturally have major gay male protagonists.
