I don't think that Amazon Prime has nearly as many subscribers as Netflix (that $99 fee is a tough hurdle for a lot of people), so it's shows are watched by fewer people (although Transparent's first seasons are coming to cable). I also think that Transparent is much more universally acclaimed that almost anything…
"Oh and here's an extra vote at Tribal, because obviously you're not picking the crafting kit to make a fake idol advantage or the advantage to help your tribe."
I'm impressed, because being added to a tribe where there is a strong alliance, you're not helping the team physically, and you're thought of as the biggest threat, she still managed to read the room and stir up some trouble. This tribe swap really did her in.
I do think Sandra was in a great position before this tribe swap. Being a non-athletic player on a tribe that has largely been intact since the start was a real disadvantage. She had very little she could use to sway them, and she still worked her butt off to cause schisms. Respect.
They'll grill her now that she's part of their tribe, and I imagine because she has no chill, she will just tell them almost everything about the boat.
She said that and it slipped right by me, because she says so much crazy stuff. A few minutes later it sunk and in I was like "Wait, what?!"
I think the editors just chose to make her tolerable for the Exile Island Boat sequence, because they knew they needed to show it, and didn't want people changing the channel from just being stuck with Debbie for a segment.
Cochran wrote his thesis on Survivor, and because Jeff Probst loves feeling important and legitimate, he (and Cochran) brought that up constantly during Cochran's first season. I only watched Cochran's first season (why he didn't win), and he didn't strike me then as a mastermind. I think his advice would work well…
I thought that too during her exit interview. She went in much harder on JT and Tony than I remember her going this early in past seasons. I don't honestly think she needed to come back to ensure the others were eliminated (those two absolutely won their seasons largely by luck), but that does seem to have been her…
I was relieved that Sasha actually got an emotional send off. The show seems to think incorrectly that we're only invested in Rick/Carol/Daryl/Glenn, I expected them to unceremoniously kill her for shock, but instead they went for the feels. I was also worried they were going to reenact a scene from the comics in…
Very impressed that Shiva knew which human meat snacks Shiva knew to eat, and which she knew were on her side. She's maybe the smartest creature on this show.
Especially because I think the last new episodes were a miniseries. I am a sucker for the revised opening credits each time though (but nothing comes close to Stakes).
"What the fuck is a betty?" Literally Lena Dunham.
It's Fantom Comics in DC if you're ever in the area. Being in DC, a lot of Howard University students attend the Black Panther book clubs and bring a lot of great insight. The manager, a woman of color, was recently hired by a major comics publisher, so hopefully she can help impact the larger industry.
Check out Miles Morales' book. I don't think there's anything too adult in there and it's not overburdened by continuity.
Unlimited's interface is such a joke, I don't think anyone at Marvel is paying any attention to it. Which is a shame, because it is how many people spend their money on Marvel.
Some retailers are bad business people and racist. I bought a stack of comics from a store in Baltimore, and every book had a cover featuring a person of color or a female protagonist. As he's ringjng me up, he complained to me about the existence of diversity in comics. Read the room, sir. He would likely be…
Her book when she was still Ms Marvel seemed to exist solely to tie into the latest crossover
Looking forward to Marvel adding a second Spidey title with Zdarsky as the writer. I need a fresh voice on Spider-Man.
