You might be overthinking it. It’s way more likely they’re just doing their own show to 1) save money and 2) be able to do whatever they want with it. 

My guess is since they’re just announcing at E3 this year and general consensus is that PS5 is landing in Fall 2020, it’ll more than likely be PS5.
