I highly encourage you to come back because it is still fun and novel, but just a warning: the “build” part of “build and shotgun” is the vastly more important part of that equation, and the skill gap in building between casual players and streamers/pros is still enormous.

I don’t think it’s ever happened, but the argument against your second point is that the time on the clock still allows for a trade after the draft starts if another team gets really desperate and throws the kitchen sink at the team with the first pick.

There are some comment sections that really remind me I’m a solid 15-20 years younger than the average age of the commentariat here. This one about maps and AAA and whatever the fuck a “TripTik” means is one of them.

The biggest indictment of D&D’s writing is that as soon as the show outpaced the books they took the show from one of the consensus greatest shows of all time to several kinda cool moments with a bunch of bad writing in between.

It has been very obvious the show has had no idea what to do with Bran. It doesn’t help his story is one of the weaker ones in the book, too.
