Extending the theory further: The TV show IS his rough draft for the final books, and all fans of the show are like his test audience. Once the show’s all done, he’ll take in the criticism and make adjustments to the text. It’ll still take him 15 years, but hey, the guy’s gonna do what he’s gonna do. He’s got his eyes

Telling non-black dudes they can’t do or say something is a recipe for a massive whinefest

Talk about an unbelievable story with holes in it

You were still wrong tho

It is possible that in France, where he made the comments, and in his native Spain, the term lynching has no racial connotations.  In any case, though, it still doesn’t describe how Allen has been treated.

That’s what some people have speculated. That he’s been waiting for the show to be over before releasing any new books. The reason being that HBO has requested he hold off as they feel at this point a new book might ruin the buzz for their once-in-a-lifetime worldwide hit (especially if it differs substantially from

I find that the TV series has turned painfully dire the moment it overtook the books, but at this point I will take a “shit” ending in 2019 over a “good” ending never.

The only evidence is the testimony of a 7 year old

I think what’s really going to shift the tide is when more men/young boys are able to talk about their rape and sex abuse. No one really believes women/girls b/c it’s been established that some Glenn Close psycho is always lurking in the shadows ready to destroy a man’s life b/c bitches be cray.

Hot take. Maybe don’t compare anything to a ‘lynching’ unless you’re a black person. I’m sure many people will point out to me the exceptions to this rule. But I stand by my statement.

I just don’t fucking get it.

Meanwhile, the nanny said that Allen was alone with Dylan and that when the nanny checked on Dylan (after she’d been alone with Allen) Dylan had no underpants on.

Since the show has gone so far past the books he’s much better off waiting for the show to be over before publishing Song of Ice and Fire. The last season will surely be filled with awesome set pieces but increasingly weak writing; let the book be the final say instead.

I’m finding it very hard to believe it is 2018 and people are that so bent out of shape of the credible evidence against Allen.

Yeah the Eagles claimed naming rights because they had the stones to successfully run this trick play in a superbowl. If they’d failed that day it would not be known as the Philly Special.

I wish it weren’t just a metaphor. I am sick to death of powerful men - mostly white - getting away with sexual violence against women and kids. And I am even more sick of their adult male defenders. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

The metaphor was racist, and Bardem’s defense of Allen is self-serving and despicable. I’ll watch his movies if they’re free, but I won’t put another dime in his pocket.

I read the first 3 books when Storm of Swords had just been released and was blown away. I haven’t read anything in the series since as the waiting between novels has been intolerable.

I’ll give them this - at least trash men stick together.

Thankfully for those who hold things like a painted logo on a football field in such high regard, the grounds crew has since patched things up.
