Eh, I think this is giving Rowling too much credit as a writer. I think mapping out a clear and consistent sociopolitical viewpoint onto her writing in Harry Potter is very difficult. It’s as hard as mapping out a real working world in her writing. It’s writing that’s high on emotion and whimsy and low in specificity,

There’s a not-insignificant part of me that wishes someone would try this again with a much larger city and maybe more paths leading the its end. I felt in DA2 that most of what you did ended up feeling a little superfluous because the ending kinda railroads all actions into basically your last choice.

Anything that isn’t the MMO-lite that was grafted on to Inquisition is okay in my books.

The “infinite update” mentality is exactly why we don’t have things like Stardew Valley 2 or Terraria 2. I’ve said this before and most people slam me for it and say I should just play the new content for those games. But the reality is I don’t want to. I beat Terraria four times. I don’t want to play that game

“Aw geez, Rick, this cancel culture stuff sure is out of control these days, huh? It’s getting so you can’t even beat and imprison a woman anymore. Like you used to, you used to uh, you know you used to be able to hit on 13 year old girls on the internet and no one made a big deal about it. And these days? Everyone

I assume that you’re describing the power curve when playing the campaign on a fresh profile. The dual nature of the game was really wonky. During the campaign the leveling and gear systems make almost no sense. It’s over long before you can unlock enough on a character to experience how they were meant to be played.

That’s where this game went wrong for me. Throwing a literal boulder at a random goon as the Hulk and watching him take like 12 damage, while I get sniped by another goon off screen for 70 damage.

This is good. I support this. I think there are a lot of ways AI can be used for artist advantage, but there definitely needs to be some kind of blowback to these large companies that have stepped into the space with little care for the future problems they are creating. Hopefully this will raise the profile of

Curtail? No, they’re pretty clear in their statement that their goal is that AI development must adhere to some form of ethics. Not that it must be halted. I don’t think anyone sees it as an inherently bad thing, but as with all new technologies, reckless usage cannot be allowed to cause harm just in the name of

Yeah I mean I never really got into Skull and Bones but its definitely been successful for Rare. I will admit that part of the reason I didn’t love it is I kept feeling like it was a little too simple and straightforward; at the same time, Skull & Bones seems to be going way in the other direction in terms of systems

I just want one, yes one new AAA Splinter Cell, before they sell off every property and explode into auctions and bankruptcy.

I would say the only one worth it on there is Cadence because it rarely goes on sale. Everything else has been on sale before or can be purchased elsewhere for cheaper.

Check out Meeseeks and Destroy maybe? It’s a good stand alone episode from the first season. Or the episode where a dog gets human intelligence.

The important thing You need to remember is 40k is parody that doesn’t break the 4th wall. Always has been.

Darktide pretty accurate portrays 40K and what you’re seeing is the main problem. Pretty much everyone in 40K is vile. It’s just a question of how vile. And the more powerful people are more vile. The Space Marines are particularly unpleasant. The main human empire, the Imperium of Man, is a gigantic psychotic

There’s an absolutely gigantic difference between “I, someone interested in game art, can find out who did a piece if I invest time and effort in it!” and “Artist’s name is literally on the piece”.

Snap is at least beginning to do this, but they have a long way to go. I’m starting to see variants in the shop named “[high profile artist] variant” but it only appears to be here and there. Would love either to see some text floating next to each card crediting the artist or a button that brings up the proper

Taking or not taking a commission for art has nothing to do with being “ethical”, unless the request is for a harmful image (e.g. a swastika without context). If she doesn’t think it’s worth her time, that’s her business decision to make (I can’t blame her, I typically won’t give up more than limited copyright in my

$3k for an illustration isn’t really lowballing, depending on a few factors:

I’m always down for a bit of the ol’ “beat and delete.” I got Shadow Warrior 3 at a deep discount and it hit the same sort of itch. You can pretty much platinum the game in 10-15 hours.
