to be fair, 2020 was like.. the worst
I can see that with LWT, though for me Oliver balances the dark with humour that laughs into the abyss; you can tell he was a stand-up before a presenter. Sterling is twin barrels of outrage and anger, there’s rarely a cleansing of the palette with a joke. What little is jokey is lathered in despair. I do genuinely…
Plenty of adaptations are better than the original:
It’s almost as if NFTs are a solution in search of a problem and that pretty much everything crypto bros claim they enable for gaming has been possible from a technical perspective for years.
Frankly, I think you can make a game that’s about muddling about that’s entertaining from the jump. BotW is a great example of this. Despite a general lack of direction (besides those temples), there was virtually always something interesting on screen that you could interact with and puzzle out. I think Outer Wilds…
Man, Outer Wilds is one of those games that everybody seems to rave about, and I just could not get into when it was originally on GamePass. It was everything I disliked about Majora’s Mask, plus physics-based controls that I just could not get a handle on. Like, it’s one of those games that I feel bad I didn’t…
here’s my problem with Infinite’s campaign. you only do two things the whole time. you’re either wandering around the open world which is just one environment fighting the same enemies with the same weapons over and over. then the other half is wandering through the linear corridors of the forerunner buildings.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising (or Gods and Monsters as it SHOULD have been called) is a fantastic game. I have a hard time recommending Ubisoft games these days, but if you can borrow it from a friend or buy it used, I definitely recommend it.
Imagine if BOTW met AC: Odyssey. The writing can be a bit a cloying at times, but…
It had a steep learning curve for sure, but I stuck with it long enough to “beat” it (no secret ending for me) and really enjoyed my time with it. Eventually you’ll learn the recoil helps you maintain distance from enemies with each attack and is a defensive tool. The atmosphere was fantastic, but it was a game that…
I find the specific chunk of criticism outlined to be so aggravating. Because I watched the anime prior to the live action and felt like one of the anime’s *weaknesses* was an overreliance on “cool” over “logic”. The live action version over corrected FOR SURE but to act like the anime’s choice to blow past answers to…
I’m surprised there’s no mention in the article about how Gears of War was originally an Epic property. They came full circle.
Why is it sad that they have characters from other studios and stuff? That's something that has made Fortnite fun and interesting. Using characters like Aquaman to introduce new swimming mechanics is a cool idea. Web slinging with Spiderman is cool. Bashing on the game just feels like you're trying to appeal to the…
I think the thing that has surprised me most about Fortnite’s success is that so many companies - who are notoriously protective with how their properties are used and depicted - are now like “yeah, sure... give ‘em a gun”
I know there’s gonna be plenty of “Fortnite sucks LOL” posts here, and I get it... but I’m excited. Fortnite was something I started playing and still play with my kid, but I enjoy it and play it on solos myself now too. It’s an easy way to spend an hour after work without getting too into storylines of games. If I…
Both, really. Every single game on Game Pass can be downloaded (including the retro ones), while some can be streamed as an extra bonus (if you pay extra for Game Pass Ultimate). Every first-party game is available on Game Pass on day one (which is becoming a bigger deal as Microsoft acquires new studios), as are a sel…
Real Talk: Dead Cells is a perfect game and I won’t hear otherwise.
To say nothing about melee weapons being made of wet cardboard.
