Yeah I played through the campaign at launch and then put it away. I was happy with the 20 or so hours I got out of it—I’m not really down for long end game grind stuff, but I’m happy it’s there for others.

That’s definitely an argument to wait for me. It also gives times for modders to get to work. I think I started the Witcher 3 a little over six months after launch (though didn’t finally finish it until 2019 lol), and the first things I did were install mods to remove inventory limits and weapon degradation. I don’t…
This is also true. I swapped loadouts in AC because it truly did change things up, especially because there were not enough experience points or buttons for all skills to be used at once.
Agreed, especially for AAA games. It’s like the full launch of a game is actually three months after release.
This. I got to play AC Odyssey for free and it worked great. Then I got a free copy for my PC with my save intact, so I could then run through all the DLC (which I purchased on my own). All of that was before it was officially called Stadia, but still, it was a free game in a series I love.
This is a good point, and it’s why I played as the default Shepard in my male runs of Mass Effect. That version was modeled after an actual person and it just looked more natural. I always felt like the custom male characters looked like they were made from clay in comparison (never mind that they didn’t even match…
You’re right! Totally changes the way the line reads. I thought the original sells Peter’s fear of what his boss has done (which works because we already know what’s going to happen...because he is very obviously Doctor Octopus).
Here’s the side-by-side video:
The pandemic isn’t over just because you’re over it.
Blizzard’s based in Irvine, California, and if this new studio is in CA as well, non-competes shouldn’t be an issue as they aren’t enforceable there (which is why you see people jump between Facebook, Google and Apple). For high up executives there can still be issues, but most of the lower level employees should be…
I’m really surprised there wasn’t a PS Now bundle announcement with this system. Instead we got that weird PS4 Collection thing (most of those games are already on PS Now btw, and you don’t even have to stream them, they’re downloadable).
Three weeks ago I was totally gonna go for a PS5 first and then get the Xbox somewhere down the line (as I did this gen), and now that’s totally flipped. I already pay for Gamepass Ultimate so that $35 a month deal for the series X is looking real nice. If games are cross generation that means I could play multiplayer…
This might be my favorite game ever. I would love to scoop this up on PC, as the current PC version of the original came out in an era when PC ports were after thoughts and it is not great!
Yeah they feel like they’re halfway between the animation-inspired Zelda and the realistic Assassin’s Creed. I get why they wouldn’t want the style to drift too far toward the former given how much this looks like it’s inspired by Breath of the Wild.
My kids are 9 and 6 so they missed the whole motion control craze. I bought a bunch of Wii games at a steep discount last year for them to play on our Wii U. I thought they would like them, but they could not stand the motion controls. They just didn’t make sense to them, and I felt their pain. My oldest was playing…
My son and I sank some time into this over the long weekend and after we both wrapped our brains around the loot and mechanics, he declared, “This is cooler than Fortnite.” High praise considering how much Fortnite he plays.
It looks like it’s using the same map as BotW, just 100 years earlier. That would be very cool if that’s the case. The flat, boring terrain is something that always turns me off of these games. I’m not usually one to stick with a Warriors game longer than a couple of hours, but this one might be the one to hook me.
Same. Did no one learn anything from the Wii U? That console would have been so much easier for Nintendo to sell if they just called it Wii 2.
