Hell, how the fuck is anyone going to put a Bobby Brown record ahead of TLC’s “CrazySexyCool”? What about Mariah? Are we really going to say Don’t Be Cruel is a better record than “Daydream”, “Butterfly”, or “Rainbow”? How about Toni Braxton? Secrets is fucking phenomenal record. Janet Jacksons four album run from

There's like, seven Prince records I would put ahead of anything Bobby Brown has put out.

Hell, I might give it to MJ again with Dangerous. Or the other worthwhile Jackson with Velvet Rope.

Yeah, I came here to say Miguel is definitely one of the best traditional R&B singers I’ve heard in some time. I would put D’Angelo as #1 but I wish he was more prolific.

Me and my coworker was talking about it, and Jacquees just isn’t up there yet.

Oh, you need to forgive him. His apology for this tweet was, and I quote, “I was being silly.”

He also said this so my cape is at the cleaners

I remember over a year ago the subject of this very “joke” came up and Hart double downed on the fact that he wasn’t sorry for it. So, I’m just wondering when/where I missed that he apologized multiple times and can’t apologize more which Hart and this article claim.

He hasn’t repeatedly repented, in fact he specifically refused to apologize and compared himself to MLK. This whole article/take is frankly deranged.

“That’s a question we must ask, not just about a homophobic past for which a person has repeatedly repented, but about the criminal justice system itself.”

She’s not. She doesn’t have to. This is what duck sauce wrote:

Actually, not really cause it’s the first thing y’all loudly emphasize, when y’all are getting ready to take a hot steaming shit on Black Latinas.

Right and all this makes sense, but we re at the end of the season and instead of feeling like its the end, it absolutely feelis like we’re at a mid point

I’m certain that “Becky” is actually a representation of many mistresses. There’s no way that Jay cheated with just one woman.

I don’t know what’s going on at HBO but, they either need to order more episodes or extend the running time to one hour. We are at the finale and the show definitely didn’t get to thoroughly explore and then close, the themes for this season. There are still so many loose ends that need tying up.

None of that has anything to do with race. Just a note on the environment these kinds of jobs live in.

I really don’t think most of the Black artists you named would perform at the Super Bowl now with how racist the NFL is being to Kap and it’s Black players. After Jay-Z confirmed he turned down the Super Bowl last year, no one is going to Uncle Tom/Aunt Tomasina as a headliner at the SB.

I’m not sure we’d recover from an episode that focused on the DuBois household. I’m still waiting to see if that thread about why Derek was living in a hotel for 6 months will be picked up. Time with Derek and Tiffany behind closed doors just seems like it would be filled with boughetto sadness.

After watching the baby shower scene I remembered how much I enjoyed the dinner party scene from season 2. I really just want to see more of the extended cast. I want to see what a week with Kelly is like or what Tiffany and Derrick DuBoise are like behind closed doors. Hell, I’m interested in Dro and Candance’s

This is all very interesting, but I think first we need to gather the opinions of white women at Jezebel since they are now the arbiters of race, culture, and privilege here at The Root.
