Yes thank you! That’s why I was interested in what other forms of media he consumes. Plenty of people of color within mainstream media, on blogs, podcasts etc... discuss the lack of diversity in Hollywood. This is an ongoing conversation.

That article has a completely different author though. Maybe she didn’t think about the diversity issue but that doesn’t mean POC won’t take notice and comment.

What kind of media do you consume? Is Jezebel and GM the only website you read for popular culture? There are blogs run by POCs that talk about this very issue. There are POCs who occupy space in the mainstream media that discuss diversity issues.

POCs always discuss the lack of diversity in Hollywood. Exodus was a big story earlier this year, Stonewall was another movie in which people spoke out about the erasure of people of color. Viola Davis won an Emmy this year and gave a speech about the lack of opportunities for women of color.

I don’t think Kanye has ever made a bad album. Through The Wire, and Two Words are a couple of my favorite Kanye songs. I really love all of his albums but I will admit that Registration is my least favorite.

Yes, POWER is a great song. Although I love all of his work, I don’t listen to any albums that preceed Graduation. 808s and Graduation is where I heard the switch in his production. His sound became much more clear and pristine. Also, he eliminated the skits so the albums flowed much better.

Yes Kanye is out there. I avoid his interviews unless he is talking about music. But these quotes aren’t all bad. Some interesting stuff there but he is still insane. I do think he trolls the media because he knows he is a polarizing figure in pop culture.
