I hope you’ll agree that getting developers to think “What if this were a girl?” rather than assuming a male default is a very good thing for gaming.
I never really thought of X as linear, but I suppose there are sections that fit that bill before you get the airship. At the same time, X has way more off the beaten path things to explore than XIII did along with a better plot, battle mechanics and characters. I’m not entirely sure it fits in the same category as…
FF became a hit due to turn based battles, good stories and big cinematic. Keep doing THAT and you’ll have no issues.
Didn’t they both originally have genderless protagonists? In FFIIIs case the remake established one of the characters as being a woman
FFX was that last good FF single player game, they’ve tried too much experimentation after that and fucked up the series.
The problem is that they have really struggled to modernize. Like they understand that the series has to evolve along with games as a whole, but they keep making weird decisions about how to do that and often just sort of force gaming fads into FF with really mixed results. Final Fantasy hasn’t really felt like Final…
I mean I’d argue with you about whether Ivalice or Spira are better settings, but personally X and XII were where the quality of the games started to peter out. The MMO idea for FF was just stupid, the sequels aren’t a horrible idea but have had pretty mixed execution. I am cautiously pessimistic about XV personally
Vivi’s fussing with the brim of his has is my favorite. It can express so many different things depending on the context
The only problem is some of those mini games are maddeningly frustrated and poorly designed. Hippaul Racing and the Jump Rope thing come to mind.
Cheaper and easier to find comfortable accomodations if you are traveling with a dog
It’s revealing how mostly people are commenting this woman’s breasts instead of the fact that she is a ridiculously talented artist.
I’d rather just have backwards compatibility, not really interested in buying these again
I think, although I’ll admit that I’m not in any way a fan of the franchise in general, the outrage is because it looks like it is a huge pivot away from the straightforward military porn that fans of the franchise are into towards a pretty hard sci fi genre.
Meh, bored now. I’m glad that this game apparently has a plot and a decent single player campaign, but this obsession with making every game all about the multiplayer is getting extremely played out.
Michael Thomsen also occasionally writes positive reviews about games, he just tends to dislike the big budget AAA ones. Which may be less evidence that he is trolling and more evidence that his tastes are different from those of the most vocal segment of the gaming community. Which is fine, that’s his prerogative.
Except there are other games that he does review positively. He just has different tastes from yours. That’s actually perfectly ok, relax.
Right, if I’m looking at like Yelp reviews trying to decide where to go grab a burrito, and there are 20 5 stars and 1 1 star, I don’t look at the 1 star review and decide the burritos at the restaurant are terrible. Same logic should apply here
