That’s how I felt about TFA. A part of me wanted to be angry that it was a semi rehash of “A New Hope,” but that all changed when I watched it the second time with my then five year old in the theater. The amazement in his eyes made me realize, this trilogy is his original trilogy, not mine.

No Porgs, please. I’m an adult now and would rather have my movies about space wizards battling each other with glow swords reflect my maturity.

They are my gods now. I bow down before their magnificence. All hail the true and most holy porg, long may thine kingdom reign.

Wow. That looked great. Hamill is soooo good. My ONLY reservation is that Chewy’s face looked way animated. I am so there.

Would have been even funnier if he name was Elliott Stabler.

That’s modern academia for you. You can major in Game Boy if you know how to bullshit.

Was going to say the same thing. Andy says it and then corrects himself when his sister (already a closeted mutant) angrily objects. The Mother never says it.

“Lauren informs her that the politically correct term is “person of genetic difference.”
Actually, Andy mutters “person of genetic difference” sarcastically when Lauren objects to the use of the slur. Nice interplay between the sibs there.

That is one cocky Elijah Wood.

Exactly. To juxtaposed the on-going civil rights fight with her bold moves would have made a far better message than their blatant white guilt/absolution scene. The fact that NASA had a ROOM full of black women who were bad-ass mathematicians already said that NASA was ahead of the curve.

Very much so. I had a good laugh at Costner’s character tearing down the colored bathroom sign. I’m like, really, that’s overdramatic.

But how do you feel about Cineplex?

This struck me as well. She’s basically using religious tourism/voyeurism (which is offensive as it is: if you want to sample other religions, that’s fine, I suppose, but don’t act like your glancing interaction with others’ deeply-held rituals has given you some sort of insight) as a shield for her purported

Seriously, I’m all for exposing yourself to different religions and practices but this feels like she’s just trying to collect them and get applause for it. “I have chanted and meditated in some of the most magnificent temples on earth.” Cool story, maybe meditate on why you need to point out that you are the best at

Taking on a different gossip in this comment- but somehow I’m upset about bilson and Christensen? I saw him once in Houston and 2nd and it took me at least two blocks to figure out who had just smirked at me. He was at the height of his fame, too - which isn’t saying much. Kind of forgot they were an item, now kind of

Somehow, Jada Pinkett-Smith’s statement is actually more insufferable. She’s trying on religions to seem worldly and open/accepting.

Not sure if you meant that as a general statement or if you thought Moana was by Pixar, but Moana is by Disney Animation, not Pixar. :)

Pasta is supposed to be said with a flat a.

then I will see it.

Yeah he’s one of my can’t miss directors. Nolan and Fincher are two others for me.
