This movie was so much better than the marketing it got. Such an incredible film that snuck up on me and represented human flaws about addiction and abuse for so long without saying the words.

I loved the scene at the end when Hugh Jackman gets approval to take out Chappie in the flying ED-209 ripoff. He rushes into the room and orders everyone out of this giant warehouse like it’s totally normal to operate that machine that’s never been tested without a support group.

Yep. They somehow wanted to generate sympathy for Chappie’s “parents” but they are major pieces of shit for most of the movie.

They were just about the worst “parents” a robot could have. Dev Patel was hardly much better either. Between them and Wolverine running around in his big floppy cargo shorts, there was no shortage of awful characters.

I had a hard time laughing at what were supposed to be the funny parts, when I was too busy hating humanity just moments before.
