How is this a surprise? By sales numbers, No Man’s Sky was a huge success. It was a huge success before it was released based on pre-orders alone. This is why everyone should be skeptical of hype.

I didn’t. The reaction to the game was exactly what I expected. When the dev can’t adequately explain what the moment to moment gameplay is, then it’s not going to be a good game.

If CD Projekt Red was like most developers, say Ubisoft for example, then Blood and Wine would’ve been its own separate game. And it would’ve cost $60. And it would’ve had a dozen different deluxe versions. Despite it all, it still would’ve been one of my favorite games of the year.
