There are some franchises out there that have really bad board game adaptations (I.e: Walking Dead and Game of Thrones ... both series have games that run from fun to tedious to irrelevant for the franchise), and these appear to be fun all the way across based on the descriptions. Personally I am contemplating getting

I understand that Riot can say who stays and who goes, but there’s no community oversight or openness in the decision. It’d be similar to if the NFL came out and said they were not going to cut a couple teams from their league next year. The community that backs them would be devastated and without providing a means

I already have a negative opinion toward competitive gaming due to it’s exclusiveness, this further illustrates concerns. Who is Riot to determine that a skilled team is unfit for the league? Why are there only 10 teams in the competitive league? Certainly they need a cutoff, but they should have a real league

There is a bit of fear mongering. It’s very difficult, but not impossible. Player homes may be demolished after 45 days of not entering the house. I was able to secure a home late last year. Also, there is an Eorzean legend of the adventurers who camped outside of inactive player homes following the first 45 days

It may sound common to us, but to a developer it’s a unique gameplay experience and may be pursuable in court, especially if they have a copywrite on the game structure. I remember reading a few days ago about a specific tournament structure for card game tournaments that increases the payout based on the number of

Happy to see LCGs getting some love on Kotaku :)

If playing competitively then the cost can be comparable to TCG. Typically 3 core sets are recommended to make a competitive deck ($120) plus the regular releases and expansions ($15-$30 each). If joining late on a game, then you’re better off trying to buy a used set on eBay where you might find 3 cores and

I don’t mind the random map rotations, I wish that Activision would adopt this for their CoD Zombies modes. However, it is disappointing that Salmon Run is completely unavailable to play at certain times.

Perhaps I’m mistaken, but this article appears to make the case that BB units hold the same values as true to the R units, which if that’s the case the naming conventions would be the same. But if we take the BB units as their own series then the original R naming conventions don’t apply. However, we don’t have as

That’s really disappointing. I enjoy playing Super Mario Bros. U and seeing the messages from other players pop up.

I think this is a typo, though I’m hoping not... Monster Hunter Stories for the Switch.

I’d check out Takenoko, Dead of Winter, and (while not listed in the gold sale) Tokaido, which is very well priced.

Why suggest picking 4 random, unrelated words then turn around and say that “monkey dragon baseball princess” is a bad choice. Aside from the fact that this combination is publicly available now (thanks to this article), the password meets the new recommendation.

With how heavy handed other developers can be in tackling exploits (Battlegrounds) I appreciate that this dev is willing to acknowledge the exploits and allow players to use them. Definitely cheap as a player, but respectable for the dev.

Massive Darkness and Rail Raiders.

Look up the original Mega Man Collection released on GameCube. See also the release and remake history of Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid. The list isn’t long, but it exists.

I have agree that Earthworm Jim was not a very fun platform we. I played it a few times, but found myself using game genie for infinite lives just to beat it. However, I greatly enjoyed its sequel, which I felt played like a far more polished game. Granted I said the same thing about Bubsy II.

I’d agree with you, except the KoP&P2 debacle wasn’t really this developer’s fault. The first was developed by Behold, but the second by KYY. Seems like Paradox (the publisher) was the one who made the cash grab, which Behold had no input in.

Is this an ad for Amazon? I see nothing listed for Crunchyroll or Funimation.
