With Supernatural integrating Wizard of Oz into their mythos, I'm just waiting for the Once Upon a Time/Supernatural crossover to end all crossovers.

I feel the way you do about everyone wanting it to be how they want it and all of it to happen NOW. It's a TV show with likely a far more limited budget than one would hope and they are clearly tied down by the restrictions of the licenses. The show has been getting better as we move forward and the plot threads are

I'm not a particularly big Whedon fan at all.
Didn't care for Buffy except a few select eps like "Hush"
Liked Firefly but think it's pretty flawed.
Avengers is fun as hell but it's also pretty flawed... But still fun as hell
etc, etc.
Long story short I'm no "Whedon apologist" whatever that actually means.
But I agree with

How about we just stop comparing it to anything and enjoy/dislike it on it's own merits/flaws?

Sure, the character development has been a bit slow, but it hasn't been non existent. This isn't my favorite show right now by far, but it's been worth 1 hour of my time every week. Who knows if it will continue to be worth

And I totally understand you. If you're engaged, even if it's not quite working, you'll hang around. Ever seen the first few episodes of Seinfeld? Not pretty and not even close to the masterpiece of "nothing" that it would become but still there was something there.

I, however, have been engaged from the beginning. I like the direction the show has taken, and I like all the characters. I think the scripts have been strong.

The Aliens series is pretty freaky with the Xenomorphs as it is. But it always seems human greed is always a driving point making things worse then they have to be. Including setting up one of the freakier scenes of the whole series.

The Mist was great, and I love that Darabont came up with the twist ending that was so good, Stephen King said he wished he'd thought of it when he wrote the book.

To me they've always looked like a labrador's ears when its ashamed and tucks them down.

Go watch "Iron Giant", then come back and tell us if you still hold that opinion.

I'm a little nervous because it's not being made by Toho, but I'm not gonna cast aspersions until I've seen it.

What? You mean like how Japan has tons and tons of Godzilla movies across all different types of themes and tones? Come off of it. I grew up on Godzilla movies and not only do I think this looks awesome but I hope it comes out well too. They even have a cameo from Akira Takarada. You can sit in your tower and nay say

Anyone else agrees that Mos Def would make a kick ass doctor

I really hope this line doesn't make the final cut of ASM

Sigh. This movie was sadly underrated and I hate that Disney nuked it.

Sure, it was ridiculously silly at times, but it also had a grand feel of adventure that is absent from most movies these days.

I JUST rewatched this the other day. I love it as well! I really think the story would have been better served as a series. 10-13 episodes a season. Make it happen Tv world.

Still love this movie. Don't understand why so many people weren't into it.

I'm certain to get jumped on for pointing this out, but Hayden Christensen's name is spelled three different ways in one paragraph, and not one of them is correct.

Oh wow. Wait a minute. I had I, Robot on the list — how did we drop it?
