Celebrity pop feminism at its finest.
Celebrity pop feminism at its finest.
Absolutely brilliant!
The way I understood it, he didn’t say that women having to bear the brunt of emotional work is nonsense. He said that the OP’s wish to be a man because men bear no emotional burdens is nonsense.
“All men and men alone are responsible for the patriarchy.”
Why should he tuck his tail between his legs for saying something that’s true? Whenever the nebulous patriarchy is mentioned, men and men alone are blamed. Women apparently have no agency and have no roles in raising the future generation. Whenever a man suffers, it’s apparently his own damn fault. Women are allowed…
The way I see it, it’s just a funny visual. Perhaps slightly tacky, but certainly not gross or worthy of censorship.
I know, right? :D
That still doesn’t make it gross. One might consider it tacky, but certainly not gross or worthy of censorship.
It’s a tangerine actually, but I see what you did there :D
I don’t understand why it would be considered gross. It’s just a fucking fruit.
I’ve seen a few of the movies and I liked them, but I wouldn’t call myself a fan. I am curious as to what you mean though.
When men and men alone are blamed for the (unfortunate) current state of gender affairs, “the patriarchy hurts men too” seems just a like a way to appease and silence critics. When you consider that the vast majority of suicides are men, the OP’s comment seems rather insensitive.
It’s an easy lie to believe if you see men as immoral, savage brutes and empty emotionless husks of human beings.
Surprising or not, does a life lost in Beirut not deserve to be mourned the same way a life lost in Paris is mourned?
The responses to your comment speak volumes. Even when a man is a victim, he is responsible for his own victimhood. Apparently, all men are responsible for gender expectations, but no women are.
Because women have neither agency, nor a role in raising children. Gotcha.
Oh, victim blaming at its finest...
I can’t assume that you personally feel that way, but you just cannot ignore how differently the vast majority of westerners react to Paris and Beirut.
“Innate male reactions”... I cannot believe how proud some men are of their patriarchal shackles.
Exactly. Western society has accepted that violence and suffering are commonplace in the Middle East (and in much of the Third World in general) and deemed them acceptable. When they suffer, there is no outcry. When they bleed, there are no hashtags.
