That’s not what the statistic describes. What it means is that the average wage of all hispanic women is 44% of the average wage for men (not sure if it’s compared to hispanic men, all men or white men only). The statistic doesn’t compare wages for the same job.

That “Happy hunting, bros.” basically invalidates everything you wrote before it. Viewing women as actual human beings with minds and desires of their own and NOT as objects and sexual conquests is the whole fucking point!

It has a lot to do with how traditional (toxic) masculinity is intertwined with sexual prowess. To be male and to have a lot of sexual partners (women only of course) is seen as proof of one’s manhood, and therefore one’s worth. To be male and a virgin is to be worthless.

They all play roles in tragedies like this as well, but it’s a lot easier to keep guns away from nutjobs than it is to cure nutjobs.
