Global Entry interview is a breeze as long as one is 1) an actual citizen, and 2) is honest and doesn’t have prior violent convictions. My own record wasn’t blemish-free (youthful mistakes), yet I still got it. I was just honest about it and didn’t try to hide it.

This is for “pre-checked flyers” e.g. people already smart enough” to take advantage of the option not to have to remove their shoes, etc. because they went through the pre-check verification process for TSA Precheck/Global Entry. You know, the people zipping through security while the huddled masses in the regular

They just need to quit it with the shoes and taking your electronics out of the bags. If you could just toss your bag on the conveyer, keys/wallet/phone/watch in a bowl and walk through the scanner, then grab your stuff at the end, it would speed things up immensely.

TSA needs to come up with ideas that will keep lines moving and prevent bottlenecks,

“This self-service prototype allows our trusted travelers to complete the screening process at their own pace,” TSA administrator David Pekoske said in a press release Wednesday.

If anyone in power really wanted to improve airport security and the experience of using American airports, they’d dump all of the security theater in favor of the less-intrusive, more-effective measures most of the industrialized world already uses.

What’s the point of winning the championship if you only won because other cars broke?

F1 isn’t the “absolute peak”, deliberately. Performance is capped for safety and money reasons.

I thought F1 is boring because they build the cars so big:

If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. The entire field is basically within one second of each other this year which is wild. The midfield battle is going to be awesome to watch. Qualifyings are going to be exciting. The strategy calls are going to be more important than ever. If all you’re watching for is people

So if you open a store and start Dell selling laptops, you think it’s totally fine if Dells says “hey, we’re just going to put up this sign in your store telling your customers they can buy our laptops cheaper from our own site”?

Lately they’ve been doing a major refresh and then a mid-cycle visual refresh. I’m wondering if they don’t have the mid-cycle already designed at the time of the major refresh and they make the initial design just a little dorkier so that 3 or 4 years in they can make it look super cool and keep sales up.
