This hybrid are a perfect middle ground until EV’s can get to a reasonable price, for cars people actually want to buy. Once you get a 300 mile range EV priced the same as a similar ICE car EV’s will start taking off more.  But there are still the dirty parts about EV’s no one wants to talk about.

Been involved in a couple of FAA outages many years ago and both were the result of a single person’s error. Both happened during approver maintenance windows with step by step MOPs in place approved by FAA. Both made national news. One was the result of one person adding one step into an approved procedure. Forgot

Why was there no redundancy? If deleting a file can cause all this trouble, it’s not the contractor who's at fault.

Partially true - but you are conflating US *domestic* first class with European and Asian *international* first class.

A storied, truly American company that our kids will know only as a vestige of American automotive history. The logo will appear on electric scooters and bicycles made in China and sold in Wal-Mart.”

I feel like they’ve said this before, then changed their mind, then said it again, then changed their mind. It’s like they know they NEED to do it but fail time and time again. They’re so committed to their old consumer base that they will die with them (literally).

Contrary to what is written on Jalopnik and other liberal sites, the lack and expense of cats has little to do with theft rings. And our pollution has very little to do with diesel engines

Good luck finding cats here.

Define “well”.

Yeah, I don’t understand California’s brand of ‘capitalist liberalism’ where they impose a whole bunch of regulations but then make it the problem of individual people and small businesses to meet them without any financial assistance. For years I’ve thought having to pass CA smog was a great way to punish poor people

...but like... do any airlines actually run well?

Industry response: “lol, ok... we’ll just register our fleet in Nevada then and give them our tax money instead.”

This doesn't remove the engines from the road just displaces them to neighboring states

This ban has been tough on individual owner-operators. My father-in-law had a hard time finding something at a reasonable price, and was only just able to find one a couple of months before the ban went into effect.

Correct! Not just dents...Scratches in SS can not be “buffed out” like on a painted car. The SS needs to be “re-grained.” If you look closely at SS, it has definite “grains” or a patterns on the surface. Any attempt of buffing it would lead to permanent swirl marks. You can do a DIY re-graining but I’m not sure you

I second that. I actually, 20+ years ago, worked for Peugeot Citroen technology Centre in France studying the behavior of Steel vs Aluminium and how thin we could build panel and get away with it (for cost reason, obviously and weight). Precisely to study the effect of indentation on these panels, meaning if someone

So, is the Cybertruck going to be made with 304 (likely), 316 (better, but probably not), 430 (doubtful) or some other grade?

Stainless is a great idea in theory. In practice you get a 2mm dent in a A pillar or hood and you can’t exactly bondo it and paint over it. The panel is garbage. Insurance will be a small fortune. Delorian owners discovered this the hard way.
