I didn’t have the exact words for why this article made me uneasy, but this is it. You nailed it. I support archival and even deeper rights for the end user of software than currently exist, but this... this feels wrong.

Older games, I can understand - but encouraging the torrenting/pirating of a game one day after its’ release? For fuck’s sake.
I am considering buying one and already own an original Switch. The only reason I would consider it is because I generally only play the Switch in handheld mode, and my partner only plays in docked mode. I’d like to leave the original in the dock permanently, and use the OLED as my portable.
Not relevant to many people, but Best Buy Canada is showing availability online and in stores in some areas.
It was entirely boring and unnecessary when I did it in Far Cry 5.

The separate buttons are necessary because the controllers can function as two separate one player controllers. Handy if you have a sudden hankering for co-op Wario Ware.
They have to do the separate buttons instead of a D-Pad because when you’re playing two-player and each player has their own Joy-Con, those are their A, B, Y, X buttons.
Ah, so welcome to pacing.
Were you really waiting to play the game to find out what the title is?
Because quite frankly, it doesn’t make any sense. It’s a mod of an old game that requires the actual physical disc to play. If anything, that would drive sales as people try to acquire a copy. Plus it’s offline.
That would make sense, except the world is filled counter examples to your claim. Can I enter a race with an “unofficial” modification of a car? Yep, sure can! How about enter a golf tournament with an unofficial set of modified Nike clubs? Have at it! Create an event exclusively featuring custom Rock ’Em Sock ’Em…
Project+ is not an official Nintendo made product and promoting it to the public, such as in a tournament, falsely makes it seem like a Nintendo product.
Oh shit, modding a game is illegal now?! Like, against THE LAW? The creators of Team Fortress and DOTA and many others are in some serious trouble then, I guess?
You shouldn’t be shocked by them naming the best dlc as the best dlc. What the hell?
Is your rub against Black Panther or just rich superheroes?
Is your beef that people like Black Panther?
Yeah, isn’t it crazy that they’d rather play as a literal king with actual supowerpowers than as two randos who have all the powers of someone who bought an archery set at Target.
I’ve played all of the DLC and am a huge Hawkeye(s) comic fan. W4W is a much better DLC release and it’s not close.
Which is like saying Bumblebee is the best Transformers movie. While perhaps technically true, we’re talking about an awfully low bar here.
