Dave Brevik was part of the team that made Hellgate: London (which was not bad, but ultimately too flawed to be successful). He now runs Gazillion Entertainment, which produces Marvel Heroes, which is actually fairly successful/popular. (edit: I guess he just stepped down as CEO in January.)

Mostly moving out multiple contracts they don’t want for a player who can play on the blueline. They also save money, both against the salary cap and in real money paid.

Karlsson is average defensively. Not great, not as bad as many make him out to be. However, when he’s on the ice, the puck is rarely in the defensive zone. He is literally that good. He’s a defenseman on a bad team, and yet he’s still tied for second in the league in scoring. As a defenseman. It’s unbelievable.
