If you think these runs will “go away” just because Jalopnik stops reporting on them then you don’t understand the mind of a racer.
My favorite song to play in the stages while I wait to tree.
I always liked these, but at that price I feel like you could find the 4-Runner you were really looking for. They may look similar but Toyota was always (And still is) a cut above Nissan in quality and reliability.
The Northstar is known to be one of the worst, most problematic engines of all time. WTF are you even talking about?
That’s every engine Toyota has ever made. These engines are dogshit.
Thank you. Honestly, some mornings that wing is not my cup ‘o tea either. However, it WAS a stock wing on the higher spec SS-II, SS-III and GT-Four cars sold outside of the US (As was the tiny little hood spoiler that sits just forward of the windshield wipers). I don’t do bodykits unless they have Toyota part…
Now that you can get the current generation Toyota 2GR-FE V6 at nearly any junkyard for as low as $400, the V6 swap has finally become a viable option. About a dozen years ago, while I was swapping a 3S-GTE engine into that 1994 Celica GT of mine, my best friend [He was a hell of genius with wiring] was also swapping…
Appreciation is a real thing. In the two years I have been watching the prices of these at various auctions, the average going rate has roughly doubled. These cars are on their way up in value now that collectors are finally remembering how truly great these cars are. ESPECIALLY the LHD/Turbo/Hardtop examples.
I’ve got 3 of them in my garage and I’m looking for the right black 5speed SC300 to complete the set!
Totally understandable. I think that was kind of the point I was making anyway.
To be fair, she probably does have days where she thinks near exactly that. It’s the fact that she keeps doing it that says she really loves you.
The values on these cars are rapidly rising in the last two years. They’re also becoming considerably more rare than they used to be (Unless you can live with driving a JDM import on the wrong side of the car but they consistantly sell for a little over half what the LHD models do, all other things being equal)
there is nothing my 1981 Celica GT or my 1986 Celica GTS had that my 1994 Celica Turbo doesn’t do far better. It also looks much better without the pop-up headlights and with the factory widebody, IMO.
I MUCH prefer the MKII MR2 to either of it’s other generations and my son and I both prefer his gen2 xB to his mom’s gen1 xB. Both are just better at being what they were designed to be. My 1990 MR2T hasn’t lost a bit of the previous model’s edge (Other than the obvious physical edges)
I see you people haven’t been following the market on these as closely as I have. This is a little bit over priced but some negotiations should get it in line. It’ll sell for ~$15k.
I guarantee you they’re both smarter than you are.
I was just messing with you. But the C8 is, arguably, a better sports car than all of the ones that came before it.
Plus, Ellie May was considered desperately late in breeding age. That’s a catastrophe I could get behind.
What American car in the 1960-70's DIDN’T have handling issues? Or the 1980's for that matter.
