Tell me about that when the starter actually does go. I had to do one on mine last year and it seriously made me angrier than any job I’ve ever done before. That starter is damn near an engine-out job (It’s not, but you’ll be considering it).

That’s a gen II LS400 (UCF20) on the Sopranos. A ‘98 most likely.
Is that why my 90's era cassette adapter seemed to be so much better in my ‘97 LS400 than the newer offerings? The new one’s were stupid cheap. Too cheap for me to use.
Don’t ever change the Nakamichi. I’ve got a ‘97 LS as my DD and I’ve never changed the Nak because the damn thing is amazing. Just do the mod, it requires a tiny bit of soldering but nothing hardcore.
I’m thinking a pressure treated 4x4 but, yeah, great idea.
$15 sounds crazy expensive for 1929.
Why am I the only one asking how much this system weighs? Ill just continue driving around potholes in my 2500lb mid-engine sports car. It also helps that I didn’t significantly lower my already low car.
Unfortunately, I had the displeasure of receiving my advanced training in my new career in Canton Ohio. That required me to live in that miserable state for 3 years. I received a real education, not only in my chosen career field, but also in just how wretched a state and it’s inhabitants can be.
Oh shit, that wouldn’t work for me. I’m that not-quite-OCD guy that straightens the paintings on the wall in your office while we bullshit (I know it’s annoying AF but I usually don’t realize I’m doing it until someone calls me out for it). I bet that’s why they make such a big deal out of doing it as a “courtesy” -…
you smooth bastard ;)
LOL - Take a star for that one! I, too, have relatives from Arkansas and I concur with your statement 100%! Great and lovely people but holy shit, man. Dumb as the stump stand on to “love” their cows.
There isn’t and it’s not legal to have it mounted anywhere other than dead center in many counties in my state anyway. The 1994 ST-205 WRC has an extremely “holy” front end and, unlike some Toyotas we’ve been seeing a lot of lately, every single hole leads to an oil cooler, tranny oil cooler, radiator, A/C condenser, h…
I’m also white and several times I’ve been pulled over and searched for no specific reason other than “It is suspicious for a white person to be in this neighborhood”. They actually admitted this shit.
That’s so awesome of you, sir/madam. Thank you!
“In the middle”, where the law requires me to mount it, directly blocks half of my intercooler. You understand? It’s not about track days or looking cool - it’s about reducing the efficiency of a critical engine component by half. It does the same to my A/C condenser and I live in a state where 100*F is the norm for 3…
It hurts when it’s blocking half of your intercooler.
No offense to you but your relatives aren’t very bright. I wonder how many times they’ve had their cars kicked or otherwise vandalized. Ever gotten off the freeway to get gas and ended up off of MLK blvd fearing for your life? I have - twice (Once in one of the worst wards in Houston and another time in SE Cleveland -…
LOL “Birthplace of Aviation”
What broke state do you live in that still uses radar? Ours use laser and the plate itself has a reflective coating to bounce the beam back.
Finally, someone besides me gets it. In my state we have to have it mounted in the center below the manufacturer’s symbol. That just so happens to block 50% of my intercooler causing damage to my engine and turbocharger, ruining throttle response and lowering my MPG. It’s fucking BS
