The situation sucks all around. Everyone bringing on their carry-ons sucks because there isn’t enough room and having bags down by your feet is the worst. Boarding and de-boarding takes significantly longer, and I can’t even count the amount of times I’ve had some idiot smash me with their carry on.

I check one big bag every time I go on a major trip and I have yet to have any kind of trouble. I don’t need to worry about fighting with overhead space, so I’m not in any rush to board. I don’t need to tiny-size my toiletries, I can just throw them in the checked bag. I don’t know why this is a big deal for people.

If China was playing fair then I would be against these tariffs. But they are not. Time and time again their companies and government has been caught stealing IP and trade secrets. And with these EVs their plan is to dump product on different markets at below cost in order to drive out all other competition.

Not only has 1 party turned their nose at EV, their orange idiot has all but said he’ll nix EVs altogether (in an homage to the oil and gas industry).  Eliminate all support for cars, chargers, etc...essentially dooming the whole concept.

All of the comments that show up on these tariff discussions always ignore half the story to make arguments in favor of cheap EVs.

As a technology professional who has been burned by countless knock-offs and garbage products (many sold by Amazon), I mostly support these tariffs. It’s too nuanced and above my pay grade to really dive in, but...

If you find yourself needing to drive over 300 miles every day, you should be looking into a diesel or hybrid. This argument has been dead for years.

They build nonsense cars like that so that they can point to sales figures and claim that nobody wants EVs/hybrids and just continue to build trucks, which is what they’ve always wanted to do.

At this point I feel they are purposely sabotaging the EV market so they can scream about it failing so they can get back to ICE vehicles.
