Look at how they tested HP. That is Gross HP figures and not NET HP which is pretty much the standard since 1972.

Well it’s not really a contradiction. The 5.0 will make more HP at any given RPM range than the turbo setup below 6000 RPM.

400HP NA 302 is not as easy as you think. You need compression ratio to be around 11:1 and some very high flowing heads. It would also require premium.
