It’s about time we returned to the good old days of 1899 when people had more children to put them to work.

“That’s nice Ann, but, see sweetie: You’re a woman. And that means you’re a second class citizen in the conservative world. So, if we want to hear your opinion, we’ll come into the kitchen and ask for it. Okay sweetie? Okay.”
Eventually I will figure out who Emily Ratatouille is, I guess
Agreed. Part of the reason I prefer watching movies at home instead of the theater now is because of the long run times, and at home I can hit pause.
That’s part of the reason we didn’t see John Wick this weekend. Especially for that kind of movie, I just don’t see how you maintain that kind of pace and show those violent scenes for nearly three hours without the audience becoming inured and stop being excited by it. I love action movies, but eventually you just…
I enjoyed The Batman overall, but holy Christ on a pogo stick did The Batman need some disciplined editing, on both a storytelling and time-length level. It’s like they’ve told a whole movie to the point of wrapping it up only for them to suddenly realise “Hang on, fuck, we’ve totally forgotten to resolve the plot…
I, too, hesitate to go to some movies because of length. I have yet to see the new Avatar film because of the run time, despite really liking the first one, and knowing that it must be seen in a theatre for best effect.
At least it lived up to its name...almost.
I will sometimes pass on a movie because of it’s length.
Wakanda Forever definitely could have trimmed some pages.
How will instructors teach about grammar and punctuation if they cannot discuss periods?
Florida...the new Christalibanism state. GOP’s next bill will be women and girls no longer can wear jeans and can only wear floor length dresses. Florida...the state that wants to go back and remove women’s rights. Prove me wrong...
Will Smith tried to add an action sequence once, but it was poorly choreographed and everyone kinda lost their minds over it.
Yet another article around “outrage” created by two people’s posts on Instagram or Twitter.
I gotta share this story. Last night at work I witnessed overwhelming racism:
I was on lunch and it was shift change mid-blizzard (Ontario’s having some interesting weather rn). One of the two cashiers went on break. The only cashier on was a young Black girl. So this older female customer goes to her line and actually…
Hollywood awarded 2 asian actors and a movie that represents asian-american culture with 7 oscars.
Wonder how much trawling of the internet it took to find somebody who didn’t like the fun dance number cos something something racism? Gotta generate that content and engagement somehow, even if it makes American Liberalism look utterly histrionic.
And so the line continues, like dog shit dragged behind a renegade Roomba.
Oppressor on the streets, reply guy in the sheets.
This is terrible and I do wonder if this is as much recognizing rape for what it is now? For so long, so many young women were told it wasn’t but it was still happening; I feel like the percentage is still much higher. Certainly the overwhelming majority of women I know (like two-thirds to three-quarters) can point…
