I tried watching the first episode and I guess I’m just too jaded when it comes to Dracula remakes because I found it...boring. I didn’t even finish it. It would have been better if it had been an all out train wreck, because at least that would’ve been entertaining.

All the mangas that big movie studios keep throwing $ at for live action versions are all 20-25 year old properties, so it’s no wonder their concepts are dated.  I love manga/anime, but it’d be nice if they’d take a chance on something more current.  Enough with Ghost in the Shell/Battleangel/Akira/Cowboy Beebop…

I think it’s interesting that these things are growing in popularity just as gender fluidity has gotten more credence and focus.  It’s almost reactionary in a way.  Very 1950’s.
