I’m a bit fond of a term some friends of mine — who, like me, grew up next to a ski ressort — coined for people like him: Ski Boot People. Name thus because you could put on the heaviest, most uncomfortable par of ski boots ever, and still never feel the slightest bit of fatigue, if you were allowed to use them to

FB2: Electric Zuckaloo.

And Detectorists. That counts for something.

Also too low: Detectorists. A show people outside of Britain didn’t seem to know about until recently (even though Arte put it up for free streaming this year, which, well was reason enough for me and a few friends to discover it). Which is a shame, really — it’s easily one of my favorite shows in, like, forever:

Can’t say much about the Anniversary Collection, since I haven’t played it. What I did do, though, was play the games (or at least a good part of them) when they originally came out. *cougholdmanalertcough*.

Same thing here. My gf and I were interested for a while and stopped bothering once that character of the franchise became clear. (I caught up with a few movies later on on D+, but never again in the cinema.)

I wouldn’t want to chose between Terranigma and Chrono Trigger. Secret of Evermore, though, I’d have given up in a heartbeat for either one of those. (Wan’t SoE also one of those weird “we have to make a game for the Western audience, because they just don’t get Japanese games”-things?)

I only now realize that I was completely ignorant to the fact that the same Studio made Actraiser and Terranigma. Which, come to think of it, is no surprise at all. I have to admit that I did not play any of those games when they originally came out (despite being someone who grew up with the tail-end of the 8-bit

Oh, absolutely. The Friday columns (“When Romance Met Comedy” is really equally great, even though its subject speaks a little less to me) have been one of best, if not the best thing on the AV Club for a while. Also one of the rare places left with consistently interesting and active comment threads.
I really hope

Also, I can’t overstate how true this paragraph sound to me:

I’m totally one of those boring “Weezer was the most important band for teenage me, but I fell out of love after Maladroit”-guys. That said, I really appreciate this list, for a couple of reasons:

Unfortunately, the cinema I was at in Switzerland didn’t get the letter either. Very nice, though.

I’ve heard a bunch of them are living in Staten Island.

RIP.

This, more than anything, makes me think that they don’t really care about staying true to the IP all that much.

I get your point. But to be fair, “sexy” was always part of the package. Gothic sexy, maybe, but don’t tell me that Raul Julia getting off Anjelica Huston talking French was not doing... some things to some people.

villain of classic literature into a menace of vegetative viridescence

According to the Wiki, Myazaki insistend on Jiji not speaking because he represents the childish part of Kiki’s character, which she has matured out of. Which... well, is a bit bitter-sweet, makes sense? I’m somehow glad that I have never watched the English dub, because I’m not a big fan of too liberal

Same here.

This week-end, I shall be playing God damn Valve is putting out a Steam Switch for a decent price — can I hold unto my resolution to not buy any new console or a gaming PC again?! I don’t know if it will be much fun, though.
