I agree with improving the infrastructure. I seem to recall the Fed asked for trillion $$$ to spend on infrastructure (a.k.a Shovel Ready Jobs) in 2008-2009 but instead shit most of it down the toilet.

And the LA Times is full of crap about the pollution issue, it isn't like the ships are running their mains to keep the lights on while anchored.

I totally agree. Low wages also have another important function (or should) - Motivate people to improve their skills so they can make a more comfortable living. This is often overlooked in the minimum wage discussions. Entry level jobs are just that, entry level.
