I’m reasonably sure you actually do see why it “matters”, you just acknowledge (as we all do if we’re not total dummies) that it’s class warfare and labor valuation nonsense.

Almost as brave as using “brave”, a very obvious holdover edgelord “joke” from South Park, as sarcasm!

For the record, folks, if you respond to me with the same stupid bullshit one-word non-response you’re getting dismissed. Make a cogent point or fuck off. (Or at least be funny if you’re gonna be a dipshit troll.)

I disagree with the flagrantly performative sarcasm. It’s the old Big Lebowski quote. “You’re not wrong, Walter, you’re just an asshole.”

Hey, do you know what the Russos did before Winter Soldier?

(pauses to make facile sarcastic point)

As has been pointed out by others with more skin in the game than me (pun fully intended), the fact that Variety wrote and published an article singling out DaCosta for doing something that MOST directors do all the goddam time makes the “accuracy” kinda not the point. Like... who fucking CARES that it was a true

You didn’t need my help wasting your time. You’re on AV Club talking about how the industry is racist and sexist. I like this place but it’s not exactly a hotbed of debate. A few genuine turdblossoms aside, you’re preaching to a choir.

I had a similar reaction but I leaned more into “How did they do that?”, which helped get me interested in FX work.

It’s almost like “evil” is subjective or something. I consider genocide (unlike Strange’s post a literal use of the word) of sentient beings pretty fucking evil. Nonconsensual biotech assimilation isn’t great but the actual *harm* is debatable. You cannot debate mass murder.

I’ll grant that it’s not as good as the first one but there are far too many wrong opinions about Robocop 2.

Now playing

I’m sorry, did we not watch the same sequence of follow-up Robocops committing murder and suicide? Because that sequence is amazing.

I see your point, but I have possible counters. For one, you can just add effects to a VO to make it “Krogan” or “Turian” or “Salarian”. I would venture to guess that most characters of those races in the trilogy go through that process anyway. For two, Kumail Nanjiani as Jarun Tann. I love Kumail but that VO is just

Okay, when did I say that it doesn’t exist in this case? I didn’t. I took and take exception to you using UNTRUTH to support your position. I took and take exception to you pretending that the ONLY people who face criticism in the industry are women and POC. Again, you don’t need to LIE to make your point! With which

I want this so f’ing badly. I know devs don’t want us plebs looking to BG3 as an example of what they should do differently but goddam it if I can be a 3 foot tall skinny impish lady with curly red hair who stabs fools in that game I don’t want to HAVE to be a boring-ass 5'11 fitness dork human in ME.

Must that word be used for the video game storyline? Really? I know you’re making a hyperbolic point but maybe ease off the sexual assault metaphor since it’s, you know, not fucking applicable.

This is an insane misreading of SO MUCH of the text of these games. The Geth and EDI are *absolutely* living beings. Their whole *narrative purpose* is to drive the player to consider their rights as a species and individuals.

Something I admire about Welling, who I don’t think is necessarily a *good* actor, is his commitment to character. He has been consistent in his version of Clark feeling conflicted over his powers and heroic identity.

This is solidarity-busting nonsense. How many strikes has the industry gone through and every time there are jobs to come back to?

I have a lot of local indie friends who are sort of shrugging their shoulders at complaints of this nature. Not being able to support yourself because your job relies on someone else doing *their* job sucks. But if you are working in the industry in Los Angeles or another production hub you are already in a very
