Saw Hacksaw Ridge and Allied yesterday. I'd say HR was the better movie, but the Capra-esque melodrama and Mel Gibson carnage was a strange combination. Allied felt like Zemeckis was trying to make a David Fincher movie with an under-developed script. I'd say HR was a 8/10 while Allied was a 7.

I think Thank You For Smoking threw his career trajectory off. I think he's a great actor, but there's something about Eckhart's style/presence that makes him work better as a supporting player like in Sully than as the lead.
