Except, making mistakes repetitively is what makes them human. And the story beats are not repetitive. Barry's character development is something that is gratifying to see. So many times, people have complained that Barry relies on his team too much and when they do an ep showing his emotional growth and leadership

The thing is that I sometimes feel that people automatically associate filled with bad. And I don't even call this filler. This season has been largely character oriented in terms of building these new dynamics and this ep does contribute to the season's narrative about Barry's growing maturity and how his partnership

I think there's a lot of unfair complaining for this ep. I won't rate it as the greatest but its a solid B. Barry is showing tremendous amount of growth and maturity this season. The same idea of phasing the train would have been something Cisco or one of the Wells' would have given him instead of him coming up with

The Jake/Boyle plot was good enough to counter a weak B plot in my opinion. I totally cracked up when Boyle was beating up the Latvian gangster by talking in the only Latvian suitable for a father with a kid. It was hilarious.

That would have been just as logistically impossible. Maybe they can go for Black Siren. That would make for an interesting conflict for Sara.

Really? If someone tells you that you are going to die in 5 months and it is because Savitar was taking revenge on a person close to you and you don't have necessarily an understanding that the future can fluctuate, your behavior to that person and the way you conduct you life won't change at all?

That's the point though. It's a possibility. Not the future. The lesson was to not worry about potential futures. Now Barry, being Barry, will try and fail at that but that doesn't mean he has to drag Iris down with him. If you tell someone that they are going to die in 5 months, there is no way that your relationship

Except the whole point of what Jay said is that he doesn't know anything. It's basically the same thing as an illusion. The dark cloud is already there with the prophecy. The flash of the future is no more than that.

I think Latner and Spencer have just the right amount of chemistry that the characters should have right now. There something intimate and close about them but it isn't sizzling in a way where it seems they are about to jump one another. Which makes sense given Wyatt clearly still is in mourning and loved Jessica with

I think fans of LoT may also be genre fans because its less a superhero show and more a time travel show which consists of some heroes. Plus, I think tonally Arrow is pretty different.

When we say Flashpoint, its not just that timeline. Its the after effects of said timeline as well. Flashpoint is this season's equivalent of E-2 and the original particle accelerator explosion. Its the source or event that directly causes the source of conflict in the season. The crossover was all about the effects

How is not the plot of the season? Alchemy and Savitar are there because of Flashpoint. The villains Barry has been facing are those who have been given powers from Flashpoint. Wally is now a speedster due to powers given by Alchemy. Barry changing time and causing Caitlin's powers and Dante's death is because of

I think the opposite. The entire crossover plotline was anchored around the Flash's ongoing storyline of Flashpoint. So I don't see how the Flash episode sidelined that since it was the main source of conflict. The Legends ep wasn't much of a Legends ep since the emotional center of the ep was Barry and Cisco, with

The blonde hair, similar height, similar glasses do give them a passing resemblance.

To us maybe. But as far as Barry's concerned, what he has witnessed himself with regards to changes to the timeline is a lot more convincing then the words of a madman who had spent the entire year trying to manipulate him.

My point was that given the emotional wreck that Barry was at the end of season 2, coupled with the fact that he hadn't physically caused any timeline damage before, makes his decision quite understandable because he would have thought that nothing could be possibly worse than the circumstances he was dealing with at

I don't agree with this cause and effect mentality. The circumstances in the timeline put Dante in danger not Barry. Just like the driver in this new timeline killed Dante, not Barry.

Honestly, completely forgot about that.

The time wraiths are there for those who mess with time without knowing what they are doing. Barry may have been misguided but he knew what he wanted to change. It's an inconsistent concept. But my original point about what Barry may have felt from his experiences is still valid.

They have changed things unintentionally so many times. They do things on a whim again and again without the supercomputer to aid them at all times.
